Hello, gente hermosa!!! Thee name is Maria Areli Sotelo, but many know me as Areli… I was born in Cocula, Guerrero but raised in Anaheim… I’m currently a Junior @ CSUF. My future goal is to become a teacher and help the youth in danger. Therefore, I have decide to do my research on High School DropOuts and the real reasons why they drop out.

I want to inform and also learn WHY they are lead to drop out of high school.  A question NOT many people ask themselves, it just seems easy for them to assume the answer to the question. However, when you really sit down and listen to the real reason, many things can change.  These students don’t always drop out because they want to but because they need to in order to feed their family and survive in this society. There are many struggles these students that drop out have to go though but who is really paying attention?

Each day someone drops out of high school and its NOT because they wanted to, they are lazy or they are ignorant, but because they are force to. Some face problems inside and outside their house hold, others get bully each day in school, as for some get pregnant at a really young age and have no support from their family. There are also students that get peer pressure into a wrong path. However, there are students that drop out of high school but go back for a second chance. What happens to them?!?!?!?!?!?

It’s really easy to assume and judge but it takes a lot to listen and learn. To realize that many of us are lucky we have the support of our FAMILIA, the support many of these student lack of.
